Chotrul Duchen

Chotrul Duchen means “Great Day of Miraculous Manifestations,” and it is one of the four great holy days observed in Buddhism. This day celebrates the display of miracles by Shakyamuni Buddha when leaders of the main philosophical systems in Indian challenged the Buddha to debate. In response, the Buddha displayed a different miracle each day for fifteen days, completely vanquishing his opponents and inspiring a great number of beings to follow the dharma as a result of their faith.

Sunday 11th March

First Dakini Tsok of the Year

10am – 12pm; Lunch served at the center; 2pm – 5pm

Once again as the first Dakini Day of the year Rinpoche recommends all those who can, to attend this special occasion.

Transportation & Accommodation

Please let us know if you’d like to attend any or all of these dates. There is some availability for people to stay at the center itself, so if you wish to lodge here it is best to inform us as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Also, if anyone knows they are coming by car and have any spare seats they could offer others, then again please let us know so we can help coordinate this. (OCD contact details below).

Buddha House Open for Retreat

Buddha House is currently available for anyone interested in doing retreat. As this is a merit multiplying month, traditionally it is recommended as an auspicious time to go into retreat.

Contribute to Tsoks

You are invited to make a contribution towards purchasing the offerings for the tsoks during this month. If you are unable to attend, this is a good way to share in the merit of the puja practices. Of course, attendees can also contribute. Please send your contribution as soon as possible so that it can be included in the offering on the day. Alternatively you can pay by check made payable to Orgyen Chö Dzong and mail it to 5345 State Route 81 Greenville NY  12083.

Please note ‘Guru Rinpoche; Dakini; Chotrul Duchen or Bumgyur Dawa Tsoks’ – as appropriate on your offering(s) whether by check or PayPal.

Request Lamp Offerings

You are also welcome to have lamp offerings made for you at Orgyen Chö Dzong, for any of the above dates––or at any time for any purpose you have in mind. Lamps requested by you, are offered on your behalf and dedicated according to your wishes. If you have any questions regarding lamp offerings, please contact Orgyen Chö Dzong directly.

Contribute to the Daily Sang at OCD

We do a massive Ri Wo Sang Chö every morning in front of the stupa OCD. Since it is often difficult to do this purificatory smoke puja at home, you can take part by making a contribution towards the offering substances.
