Helping Our Center

Dear Fellow Sangha Members,

I hope this message finds you all in good health.

As you know, this year is going to be very crucial for us, since the parinirvana of our lama and father, H.H. Dungse Shenphen Dawa Norbu Rinpoche. It has become imperative for us that we carry out all of Rinpoche’s wishes by completing the projects that he started.

Thank you for your support and generosity so far. We are very grateful for that. However, as you know, to keep the centers running is not an easy task—but on top, to carry out projects, is an extra responsibility that we have to shoulder.

During the 49 days of the parinirvana we were blessed to have the presence of H.H. Dudjom Yangsi Pema Shepa Rinpoche, Dungse Kathok Situ Rinpoche, Dungse Garab Rinpoche, other noble lamas, dignitaries, sangha members, and the public.

We had to implement a lot of temporary projects, such as building the cremation stupa, the temporary auspicious gates, and other structures—along with the traveling expenses of the lamas. The center bore much of the costs. Even after the 49 days we still continued for another month, as per tradition, to finish completing the two relic stupas, tsa-tsas, and so forth.

Besides the above mentioned, the following projects were also implemented: a new workshop, the removal of a pool, clearing of an old storage building along with landscaping the area, storm windows being installed in the main house, and the bathrooms in the Karma house being renovated.

I took the incentive to go down to Yeshe Nyingpo to renovate the main temple with the help of the Himalayan people and some sangha members. However, as you know, this 177-year-old building needs a lot of renovation and repairs—especially concerning the structural issues. My main concern being the windows that leak and the beams that hold up the floor. So I’ve taken the responsibility for now for the temple and the floor below where Dungse Shenphen Rinpoche’s apartment is located. Yeshe Nyingpo, being a landmarked building and being located in the heart of downtown, is an immense challenge financially. However, it was my father’s wish that Yeshe Nyinpo and Orgyen Chö Dzong flourish as one.

Orgyen Chö Dzong comprises of eight building located on a large property that is in need of constant maintenance, especially through the harsh winters.

With Rinpoche’s blessing, I am sure that many will come to help in this time so that both Yeshe Nyinpo and Orgyen Chö Dzong can thrive once more. Please join us in continuinug to build on the foundation for the Dudjom Tersar lineage for the dharma in the West. Now is the time to make a lasting contribution. Please join us with your financial support.

On behalf of all of us at Yeshe Nyingpo and Orgyen Chö Dzong thank you for your support and generosity.

With my warmest regards and blessings—
Yours in the Dharma,
Dungsey Namgay Dawa Rimpoche
