(Lord Heyagriva, Lord Vajrapani, Lord Garuda)

(see registration procedures below)

This extremely important and rare empowerment of Lord Heyagriva, Lord Vajrapani, and Lord Garuda combined into one is a terma discovered by Great Terton Dudjom Lingpa.  Though not given previously, Rinpoche is now offering this auspicious and precious wang plus the teachings on the Tä Cha Khung Sum sadhana during the first week of Losar.

The benefits and influences of this three deity empowerment are many.  It removes planetary obscurations, astrological obscurations, environmental obscurations and water born obscurations from the Nagas.  Ongoing practice can remove incurable diseases and any curses or spells on oneself or one’s family from ill-intentioned beings. It is extremely helpful for people with an unstable mind or who are psychologically unbalanced.  As well, the secret aspect of the Medicine Buddha—Varjrapani—is included.

Essentially this empowerment can generate the Vajra Armor of the Buddha, whose nature has the seven qualities of the Vajra (indestructible, firm, etc.) Rinpoche strongly advises practitioners to take this empowerment if at all possible.

Attendees will receive the sadhana which includes the main mantras of these three deities, a photo to accompany the sadhana, and a powerful amulet to wear on one’s body as protection from these deities. Upon conclusion of the empowerment, Rinpoche will explain how to practice this sadhana. Thereby, you receive the wang, the lung, and the tri (the empowerment, the oral transmission, and the teachings).

For greater effectiveness, participants will benefit by immediately beginning the recitations and the sadhana.  The results are like beating a hot iron into shape.  However, one’s disposition influences whether one can follow through with immediate practice.

Requirements for this empowerment

1. You must have taken refuge and received some Vajrayana teachings. If you have not previously taken refuge, Rinpoche may provide an opportunity during the Gutor or Losar events (see dates below).

2. If possible, your clothing should be clean.

3. On the day of the wang, please eat vegetarian meals and avoid onion, garlic, and radish if at all possible.

4. It is preferable to shower on the day of the empowerment.
